West Texas Deer

Here are some pictures we took as we were driving through the desert. The Buck that you see was hard after a Doe. The Doe just seemed to want to look pretty for the camera.

Family Traditions

Me and my children, ever since we have moved to West Texas, have started a family tradition. We go out during the winter months and we watch deer. We make it a point to see if we can spot some big bucks. We went out on Thursday and what a time we had. We saw some of the morst beautiful deer ever. My children were able to see two bucks fighting. These are times which are priceless. I hope and pray that when my children grow up and have children that they will do the same.

The 25 Words of Christmas Part 1

I have started a Christmas series entitled: "The 25 words of Christmas" our text verse is John 3:16. It is so sad that we can quote this verse but we fail to understand what we are quoting. If you want to know what Christmas is all about, then you must look at John 3:16. Here in the span of 25 words God defines what the event of Bethlehem was all about. We are shallow and weak in our veiws of Christmas. it was about Jesus dying for the sins of the world. I want to give exerts from the sermon notes I preach in our sanctuary at North Side Independent Baptist Church.

1. In Christmas we see the Heart of God revealed, for if it had not been for love, there would be no Christmas. Ephesians 3:19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge... 1 John 4:10 Here in is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his son to be the propitiation for our sins. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
2. In Christmas we see the Mind of God revealed, for out of 25 words, “Son” is the center word, for all revolves around the child born.
3. In Christmas we see the Thought of God towards salvation, for mankind's eternal destiny depended upon Jesus Christ.
4. In Christmas we see the Will of God, for he is not willing to leave us in our hopeless estate, 2 Peter 3:9 ...not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
