8 point mule deer

November 21st Friday afternoon was my moment. This was the moment I have been waiting for since I first started deer hunting. It was very cool that morning and there was no full moon so I knew there would be movement where we were going, while we were driving to the ranch we saw a nice buck running through a pastor so we knew this was going to be a good morning. When we arrived at Randolph Ranch we spent some time fellowshipping with our friends, we enjoyed some homemade penut butter cookies, man were they good, the smell of that house reminded me of my grandfathers home, Mr. Anderson asked us if we wanted to go get a deer man did my heart begin to race. While were driving around the ranch we spotted a nice 10 point buck about 140 class deer running accross the pastor, but we were not allowed to shoot that one, for that was one of his trophy deer he saves for paid hunters. We ended up in Cox pastor as we started back to the house I noticed that Mr. Anderson had this stare in his eyes, then I heard him say, "There is a Buck" When I looked there he stood. I eased out of the truck and Mr. Anderson got another good look at him and he said, "shoot him" at that moment everything got silent and I pulled the trigger, 140 yard shot the deer staggered off and fell in to a ditch. 30 minutes later I was looking at my very first 8 point mule buck. I will never forget that day as long as I live. We all three removed out hats and thanked God for the deer. He weighed 115lbs. 20 inch between his beams, he was a nice one. I love to deer hunt it is a thrill I will never get over. In fact I love just traveling the Texas roads at night just for the opportunity to spot a trophy standing on the side of the road. The simple things in life are what I enjoy the most.
